I’ve already written a review on this pattern (Simplicity 2171).

(similar to McCall’s 6387)
This is the first dress I made with the pattern…
I wanted to write another on this third dress I made. I added pockets and changed the design of the straps. I didn’t like the knots in the front. It’s cool here and Ana often wears a t-shirt under the dress, in which case I have to adjust the straps. It was a real pain in the butt to adjust the straps.
So I attached the straps in the front (instead of a back) and made one big button-hole in the back. I love this design so much more. It’s easier to tie so I can completely untie the bow when undressing, which makes it so easy to get the dress off and on. Also, I can easily pull the front bodice up high so it’s more modest.
I added a freehand machine embroidery butterfly to the front bodice. I took a class based on the instruction in Free & Easy Stitch Style by Poppy Treffry.
I added custom-made labels that I purchased from Custom Couture Label Company and size labels from Pink Nelie on Etsy.
I’m really looking forward to having time to make more of these dresses.

o I love this! I am also on the look out for a dress pattern, but seeing as my girly is now almost 7 months I’ll wait until she’s walking (must suck to try crawl in a dress!) to be dressing in dresses. hopefully she’s an early walker like her 3yo brother (9months) and not a late walker like her 2yo brother (14months).. lol
Yes! I’ve never understood why people put crawling infants in dresses.
Walking at nine months! I would love that if Eliza walks that early! So far, my three walkers have all waited until they were at least a year old.
I think the original design is very cute, but I love, love, love the change you made for one buttonhole and a bow! It’s such a great idea and seems much easier to customize the length and undo the straps. Great idea and great job!
